Detailed guide to Editing Company Settings ›

Company Contact Info

Company Settings shows your company's phone, fax, and email. These are the contact details printed in the header of the order, shipment, and invoice documents you send to customers, so it is worth keeping them accurate.

Click Edit to change the company phone, fax, and email. New orders use these company-level values by default.

Note: These details are set for the whole company here. An order's ship-from location does not currently change them — see Orders for how an order's shipping locations work.

Company Logo

Upload a company logo to brand your company's presence in Backbone. The logo appears on your customer portal — the public landing page your buyers see when they sign in.

Click Edit on the Company Settings page, then use the Company Logo control to choose an image and select Upload Logo. The new logo takes effect immediately — you don't need to click Save. Uploading a new image replaces the previous logo.

Supported image types are PNG, JPG, GIF, SVG, WebP, and BMP. For the best appearance, use an image with a transparent or white background.

Tip: A wide (landscape) logo generally looks best in the portal header.

Default Sales Tax Rate

The Default Sales Tax Rate (%) is your company-wide fallback tax rate, shown here and edited on the Edit Company Settings page. It is applied to taxed customers who do not have their own rate; non-taxable parts are always excluded. See Sales Tax for the full flow.

User Session Timeout

The User Session Timeout (minutes) setting controls how long a user's login session remains valid when there's no activity in the desktop app before they are required to sign in again. The default is 30 minutes.

Increasing this value lets users stay logged in longer between active sessions, reducing the frequency of sign-ins, while a shorter value improves security by expiring idle sessions sooner. This setting applies to all internal users in the organization.
