Upload, Re-upload, or Remove

Click Upload the first time. The badge at the top changes to Uploaded and shows the resulting File ID and Vector Store ID. Click Re-upload any time the guide content changes, or Remove to delete the uploaded guide file from your OpenAI account.

Using an Existing Vector Store

If the Backbone MRP user guide has already been uploaded to a vector store by another account sharing the same OpenAI API key, you can point the AI assistant to that store without uploading the guide again.

1. Click Browse all vector stores in your OpenAI account at the bottom of the page.
2. Locate the existing vector store in the table.
3. Click Select on that row. The store is immediately marked In use and the AI assistant will search it for answers.

Adding Your Own Documents

You can extend the AI assistant beyond the Backbone MRP user guide by uploading your own internal documents — process guides, part specifications, customer notes, or any other text that describes your company's business logic. The assistant will search those documents alongside the user guide and mesh your internal knowledge with application knowledge when answering questions.

1. Click Browse all vector stores in your OpenAI account at the bottom of the page.
2. Expand the active vector store row (the one marked In use) by clicking its arrow.
3. Use the Upload file to this vector store section to upload your document.
