FOBs

FOB stands for Freight On Board — the term that says where responsibility for shipped goods transfers from the seller to the buyer, such as Origin or Destination. The FOBs list holds the options that can be assigned to an order's FOB field. Open the list from the Settings menu in the workbench toolbar by choosing FOBs.

The FOBs List

Each row shows the Name of a FOB option. Once defined here, a FOB can be selected on the FOB drop-down when creating or editing an order. Double-click an entry to rename it, or right-click to rename or delete it.

Adding a FOB

Click New FOB, enter the option's Name in the dialog that appears, then click OK. The new option becomes available for selection on orders.

Setting a Default FOB per Ship Location

Each customer ship location can carry a Default FOB, set on the locations table of the customer editor (reached from the Accounts screen). When that location is chosen as an order's ship location, its default FOB is filled in automatically — exactly like the location's default ship via. You can still change the order's FOB afterward.

Tip: Define your FOB options here first; they then become selectable both as a location's Default FOB and directly on each order.
